Oh what a chapter! I spent 9 months revising the hell out of ch12 to almost perfection but I had to stop and wrap it up and move on. It has action, drama, despair and sense of dread. I love it. Now I'm hoping ch13 can live up to it's promise.
I put up new art for Alien Horse with one showing Elly on Chapter 2. I think its a wonderful addition and I'll be working later this month producing more art for scenes in the novel.
Chapter 11 worked out great for me. I'm very happy how it turned out being a much shorter chapter than the previous. Yes it ends on a cliff hanger but I found out I couldn't merge chapters 10,11, and the upcoming 12 ch together without being an uneven pacing mess. Pacing matters so much that taking the time to do it right for the story makes it better, way better. I think ch11 is better paced for ch10 but that may be up to opinion. Maybe readers know better?
I've decided to mark the story mature as it'll let readers know what kind of horse story they're getting into. It could easily be pg-13 but I feel it would lose so much flavor from the jokes and the urban setting it is taking place in. Lots of things happen when a city loses power for days, James and Elly will have to trudge through it during the fighting.
I put up a revised Chapter 1 for Alien Horse for new readers. I'm planning on making Alien Horse a longer book than previous thought. It'll make the story flow better with less padding.
Making two books instead of one requires filling out scenes and dragging out the plot which kills pacing and makes what could be a good story into an ok one. I think Alien Horse deserves better.
That said, the ending will worth it compared to having to make up two endings for two books. And I think that first ending sucked anyways. Like then they went off together and book ends, that type of bad ending.
I been working hard on my writing and I've noticed that the stories I enjoy the most, have really good prose that doesn't end being purple with overwrought descriptions. I think the difference between a good story and a great one that you'll remember for years is the prose itself along with good pacing. So many stories either do one or the other and then trip on themselves.
That is why I've taking my time on the prose in Alien Horse. I really want to show the relationship between horse and rider as they experience time together on the city streets. So please excuse me if it takes weeks between each chapter release. I hope you'll enjoy with more time and thought put into each sentence :)
Another chapter finished! This horse epic story is growing more by every chapter written. Oh boy I have over done myself on this chapter so let me take a break before I tackle the next one. I'm starting to enjoy the writing lifestyle :)
Rewritten the description for Alien Horse into something better. I have a really hard time writing short blurbs for a big stories so this is my best attempt. It still doesn't show what the whole story is about.
Alien Horse is growing into to being one very big book. Writing chapter 10 is only making me realize so.
@UnKn0wNhErO22 Something happened to the book, I wasn't able to fix it so I deleted it, but there is still spirit wolf!
It is done! It is finished. Many sleepless nights, hours of pain staking editing and 11 drafts later, 8 months on and off again work I've finished the entire chapter 9! All with no outline because I threw away the one I've started with because it wasn't as good as it needed to be. Outlining just doesn't work for me.
Onto chapter 10 where the action really ramps up a notch :D I hope everyone is having a good day.
I have good news. I quit my job that was giving me lots of stress and now very happy to be able to devote my full attention to writing. Expect chapter 9 to be coming out soon, real soon! Quitting has given me my muse back and I can't wait to show readers my new stuff :D

Finally! I am one more revision away from posting chapter 9. Wow its been so long trying to tackle a new job and writing in my spare time but I've done it.
I had to split this chapter in half and put the rest in next chapter because it is so long. I think that is the best choice as a writer I can make. Things will heat up in ch10 far more than trying to write one really long chapter!
I do have a question though for those out there, does anyone know how to write a good intro blurb to a story? Somehow I am lacking in confidence on writing one. My story, Alien Horse so desperately needs a good one!
I'm still here! Writing a challenging scene of men on trucks chasing horse and rider is pushing my writing skills as far as I can take them! I'm itching to see the reaction of readers when chapter 9 is finally posted. I'm half way finished with it as we speak. I'll keep you updated.
