I am a young black Caribbean - American woman residing in one of the most diverse cities in America with little cultural appreciation.

I exist in a community where political knowledge is a joke; the Affordable Care Act has made my pre-existing health condition something of an expensive punishment.
I work in an era that is under the impression that my generation is lazy and incompetent.

I write to turn cultural appropriation into cultural exchange
I write to show that our government needs to change
I write to prove that powerful young adults of immigrant decent exist
