I’ve been getting asked by publishers to publish my books on Wattpad since I was about 12/13 and I’ve always said no because I lowkey always found some publishers to be soooo shady. Shout out to the people who do publish their urban books with publishers because not all are bad—but I just can’t do it. I always noticed this certain trend with publishers that will find authors on Wattpad with a certain book title, certain character names and a certain plot and then when the book is published on Amazon (or whatever platform you are selling on) the book now has a different title, different character names and the publisher’s name is now slapped on the cover of YOUR book as a “co-author”. So now both of you are making money from the book that YOU wrote. And the reason I find this to be shady is because the character name changes and title changes are always unnecessary; but the reason they make you do this, is if they’re the ones who suggest you make these changes to your story, they can now claim they helped you write your book. So now it’s “two” authors. They also love splitting up one book into 8 parts so now customers have to keep paying for the same one book which turns your audience off. I would rather self-publish and risk my book not doing that well or just not publish at all before somebody takes credit for ideas, plots and characters that I wrote. Or before they make me chop my book into a 87 sequels. Hire an agent and try to go for big publishing companies if you have the money. Again, shout out to those doing their thing, just be careful!

@PrettyNeishaa I don’t know how that process works, I haven’t published any works. I think when it comes to pitching books or tv ideas you have to hire a literary agent or a talent agent for things like that. They would most likely have that information.

@UrbanQueen I have a question, I published my first book on here and my dream is to eventually pitch it to a major network. I have been wondering when I start on my second book that would be a prequel to book 1 , if that's still possible since I am posting the whole first book on here..... any suggestions?

@UrbanQueen i wonder how it feels to have people around the world love this book you wrote, and still pressing you about a new one? Do you feel pressured? Do you think you’ll actually give us a new book or do you think maybe its time to let it go ifff you dont come up with something? Author the way you finished it it did have a nice ending butttt also room for continuation like even with the andre west book I cant believe you realllllly dont have it up. You dont think you’ll put it public just for us OGs to reread it again? Maybe?

@jupitersworlddd Yeah I love the originals too. But since I didn’t plan on writing for the second gen, writer’s block is crazy right now so i’ve got nothing for any kind of stories right now lol

Thank God for writers like youI read this book EVERYWHERE!!! Literally spent more time reading than studying, my favourite part about reading your book is how it brought my sister and I together we would always inform each other that there was an update and then discuss about it with once we finished it. I really the writers block goes awaybut I would also understand if you just take your time instead of rushing through the book. You are amazing!!!!!!
