rob will always be my favourite bruce for so many reasons. he’s the only one who isn’t a playboy, he doesn’t want to be shown to the public. at the funeral he TURNS away from the cameras, physically grimacing at himself as he tries to fake smile. he’s still grieving. feeling the weight of having to carry his legacy on his back. we never see the beforehand in the other films. don’t get me wrong i love them all. and bale will always be superior.
but rob. he’s mysterious, his sad act IS the mask.
batman is - as rob quoted “he’s got this enormous trauma inside him, he’s built this intricate, physiological mechanism to handle it. a really bad self therapy, which he’s ended up with him being batman, as self-help. him,, beating people is his way of getting out that grief and anger. he’s just so.. human. raw. to me it’s the only time ive felt this character has gone through a personal arc, from a traumatised, scared, bitter boy who hides under a vengeful persona which he uses to release his rage on the type that took away his parents. to then become some sort of symbol of hope around the end when he realises his responsibility to be better than those who came before.
he’s just so special to me idk yall, he just needs a hug.
