And in the book series, the part called 'The Man in Room 1280' there is a soul wearing an animatronic alligator mask. And since there is only one alligator animatronic, we pretty much know who haunts it. And since the soul was defending Afton, who wanted to die in a specific location, we can tell that Monty is haunted by an ally of William Afton.
