          A little glimpse:
          
          > I walked up to the bed and sat beside her. I clenched my jaw after seeing her arm bandaged.
          
          Just wait till I find out who did this to you.
          
          My hands curled into fists on my lap. I looked at her face—it looked so peaceful, like she wasn’t the same girl who had just cried herself into sleep.
          
          Fuck, why am I feeling different?
          
          I couldn’t tear my eyes away. The way her lashes rested gently on her cheeks, the way her lips were slightly parted, her breathing calm and steady. Her chest slowly rising and falling in rhythm. She shifted in her sleep, and I swear I froze.
          
          Her hand brushed lightly against mine.
          
          I didn’t move. Didn’t breathe.
          
          She turned slightly toward me, murmuring something incoherent in her sleep. My name? I wasn’t sure. But for a second, my cold, rigid heart stuttered.
          
          I exhaled slowly and looked away.
          
          You’re just tired, Devraj. That’s all. Nothing else.
          
          But even as I thought it, I couldn’t get up. Couldn’t walk away. My eyes were drawn back to her face like a magnet. >
