I spent time this morning trying to classify my stories with the new system. Regency Masquerade and Clue of the Dancing Robber were easy but some of the others don't fit any of the options, eg Dreams, my collection of short stories, all with different genres.
          	I shall wait and see what Wattpad comes up with when it classifies the remaining stories in a few months time

@VeraLoy yeah I hope so but will be interesting to see

@PaulJacobmoss It will be interesting to see how Wattpad classifies them... eventually. I suspect they will have to add some extra genres to the process.

@VeraLoy yes finding the same my works don't fit the mould, I refuse to be put in a box or labaled and my stories are the same!

After 13 years of self publishing, I've decided to remove my books and close my account for distributions through D2D. This means my books will go from Apple, Barnes and Noble, Kobo etc. I still have an author's Amazon account but I'm considering closing that one too. I had a lot of fun setting it all up but I've lost interest this last year or so, in maintaining all the promo needed to keep sales up. Time to call it a day!

VeraLoy

@PearsonAcree Yes, the D2D fees tipped the decision for me. I decided that if my sales were that small, then perhaps the value of having them there had waned. And I didn't want to pay fees as well as commission. I still have an author account on Amazon, so I shall see how that goes. But my books have been up a long time so maybe their time has come... We shall see!

@VeraLoy Oh, no, but if you feel that's the right decision, I'm sure you'll find a new passion! Did the new D2D fees influence your decision? If you're comfortable with it, maybe make your books exclusive with Amazon. I've heard stories of people still making money without promotion or even adding new titles, since it's based on page reads.

@FlorVaquera No, I'm keeping my stories on Wattpad. In fact I may add some of those short stories from the published books to my promo books here :)

Celebrating achieving 40K votes for Regency Masquerade! :)

VeraLoy

Always interesting when I look at the stats for Regency Masquerade. I suspect a lot of readers may not actually be Wattpad members as I get a steady number of 'reads' right up to the end of the book, but few votes and less comments, lol.
          Interestingly, the country with my highest number of readers is Nigeria, with over 18% of the total.

VeraLoy

@Xantasticday lol! Thank you! :)

@VeraLoy I read it twice but you can only vote once. So there's one read accounted for!
