Chapter 9 — LOVE, GUILT AND HURT

          	BLURB

“There isn't a single person left in Sundas Nagar whose ID card I haven't used to get a SIM for you. Sooner or later, one of them is going to tell Gulbahar Begum. And believe me, that will be the last day of this poor soul's life.”

“Ghazal, my sister, Roshni would never let you die. Trust me.”

“Of course I should trust you,” Ghazal replied sarcastically.

“Because if I die, who else will do all these dangerous and ridiculous things for you?”

She sighed and shook her head.

“Honestly, you're wasting your time. There isn't a SIM, a number, or a social-media account that man hasn't already blocked you on. This SIM is destined for the same fate—getting blocked, just like all the others.”

          	Roshni's smile didn't fade.

          	“Let him block it.”

Ghazal stared at her in disbelief.

“Why are you so determined to humiliate yourself?”

“Because even if I can't have him...” Roshni gently took the SIM from Ghazal's hand. “...hearing his voice once is enough for me. If I can't have him, then at least let me have his voice.”

          	Ghazal fell silent.

She could only stare at the crazy girl in front of her—the girl whose love was so fierce, so unwavering, that it almost hurt to witness.

In a place filled with betrayal, Ghazal had just witnessed the embodiment of loyalty.

Tears welled up in her eyes.

But Roshni remained completely unaware of her friend's emotions. With a dreamy smile, she swayed from side to side and began singing,

“Dil cheez kya hai, aap meri jaan lijiye,

Bas aik baar mera kaha maan lijiye,

Bas aik baar... mera kaha maan lijiye.”

(What is the heart, my love? Take my very life...
Just accept what I ask of you,
Just once... accept what I ask of you.

Read it in "Wounded Dairy Of Scars."

"Do you think this is a joke?" Kirt's voice cracked, eyes wild. "Or some kind of game? Do you have any idea what I'm going through?! Every passing day brings more despair than hope. Still, I tried to stand up... but because of you, I feel like I'll never stand up again. Do you even know how painful this is? If you were at least a little encouraging-"

Kirt choked on his words, the raw surge of emotion cutting him off mid-sentence.

"Hph." Natapong smirked. "I thought I'd walk out quietly, letting the truth remain buried in the grave. But I think you badly need a reality check."

Natapong strode forward until his shadow towered over Kirt's bed.

"You're right' it's not a joke. Unless you turn it into one and make everyone believe that's all you are."

Kirt flinched. The words grilled deep into his chest.

"I've given this industry thirty years," Natapong continued, his tone cutting.

"Believe me, it is a ruthless place. I have seen it swallow legends whole. You think you can survive here while staying ordinary? I'm not here to pity you, and I am certainly not paid just to train an ordinary singer. I was hired to turn you into music itself. That is what Sir Tawan chose for you. That is what your friend Ming dreamed for you."

My mother-in-law is currently in the ICU in critical condition, battling multiple chronic health issues.

She was never a typical mother-in-law—she gave me the love and care of a mother, especially since I no longer have one of my own.

Right now, my family needs me the most. My husband and my children are my priority, so I won't be active on Wattpad for a while. However, I'll continue doing my R4Rs whenever I find the time.

I truly appreciate your understanding, support, and prayers during this difficult time. Please keep my mother-in-law in your prayers.

Chapter 8 — Not Every Victory Is a Win of "The Wounded Dairy Of Scars"is now published.

          BLURB:

The icy blue of Shah's eyes darkened into a stormy shade, fury simmering beneath their calm. Against his own will, a devilish smile curved on Kaamil's lips. This was exactly what he had wanted—to disturb Shah's peace, to shatter the composure everyone believed was unbreakable.

Yet Shah had always reminded him of the sea.

No matter how violent the turmoil beneath, its surface remained deceptively serene. But when the storm hidden in its depths finally rose, even the grandest ships lost their way and sank before its wrath.

"What are you trying to do?" Shah asked, his voice controlled, though every word burned with restrained anger.
          Kaamil only smiled.

"Don't tell me you still haven't figured it out. I'm in a generous mood today, so I decided to hand you this victory as charity."

He had never intended to provoke Shah into a fight. Yet the fury he had spent years longing to witness now stood before him, and he couldn't resist pushing further.

A faint, mocking smile touched Shah's lips.

"So you admit it," he said softly. "Men like me have accepted charity on occasion. But my standards have always been far higher than anything you could ever offer."

"It's only eight o'clock, and we're not sitting on your shoulders, so why are you being so rude?" Zahid shot back, pulling up a chair and dropping into the seat beside him.

"Listen, Ghayoor's latest article just came out, and the entire campus is buzzing about it," Zahid said, barely able to contain his excitement.

"This time, his target is Chief Justice Dawood Abbas, and Kaamil Abbas will find no place to hide his face," Bilal added dramatically.

Both of them looked at Shah, expecting some sort of reaction, but his face remained expressionless.

"Aren't you happy?" Asad asked in surprise. "The reputation of your enemy's father has been dragged through the mud."

After a lingering moment, Shah got up and glared at his friends.

"Unlike you people, I don't celebrate someone's humiliation or downfall, even if that person happens to be my enemy," Shah replied as he rose from his seat.

"And as for Ghayoor..." His voice turned cold.

"I have no regard for a coward who lacks the courage to reveal his identity to the world."

The garage fell silent after his words.

Salam! How are you doing?

I hope it is okay to share my story, Scarred.

What happens when faith itself becomes rebellion, survival means sacrifice, and love feels like a risk too dangerous to take?
If you enjoy dystopian worlds, complicated characters, and slow-burn romance in the midst of chaos, I’d be so grateful if you gave it a read and let me know what you think.
