Totty settled down on his boyfriend's couch. The living room was more mundane than Totty had honestly expected. The walls were painted pale grey, and the floors were covered with a beige rug. The black couch sat against the wall, the TV on the wall before it. The doorway was on the left when you sat on the couch. The coffee table was in front of the couch. A cat dish was placed in the corner of the room. Note to self: tell Ichi that my boyfriend has a cat, Totty thought. The FtM person Atsushi had wanted Totty to meet was sitting beside him. Atsushi stood in the doorway.
"I gotta go out, so I'll leave you two alone" he said, leaving. The door clicked behind him. There was an awkward silence. The cat, who was apparently named Daisy, walked in. She leapt up onto the couch next to Totty. He ran his fingers through her cream and grey fur, lost in thought. James, Atsushi's trans friend, spoke. "Must be nice being a cis male" he said to Totty. Totty turned to face him. "At least you were lucky enough to be born in the right body" James said, sighing sadly.
Totty bit his lip. "Actually, I wasn't." he admitted, tugging at his hood. James raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?" he asked. Totty took a deep breath before finally revealing the truth. "I'm.. not cis. I'm not a cis male. I'm FtM too" he said, his breath catching in his throat. There was silence. James spoke again. "Does he know?" he asked. Totty shook his head. "Nope. I want to tell him later on though..." he said, sighing and sinking down the couch.
There was an awkward silence. Totty didn't know what to say. He was tired. He couldn't think of anything to say.
