All of my stories so far adhere to the show's premise that Raghav did lasting harm to Pallavi and her family out of spite and depraved indifference, and yet he liked to play hero to her, he panicked when he realized that he had misjudged her, he asked for a chance to restore what he had destroyed, but he failed because he continued to behave inconsiderately and get drunk, and through Luṅgīvālā Raghav he became aware that he wants to belong to Pallavi. My writing departs from the show by allowing Pallavi to respond to Raghav like a rational person, feeling endangered by him, making decisions according to her own values, not his, and knowing the difference between physical attraction and love. For Pallavi to fall in love before Raghav as you suggest, I would have to reimagine the characters completely.
In "Hasta-prāpya-stabaka-namito bāla-Mandāra-vṛkṣaḥ" the story follows Raghav's rejected love for Pallavi as it grows from possessive to caring, then grieving (and eventually hopeful). In the chapter that I'm writing right now, there might be a hint of "possessive" in Pallavi's thoughts about Raghav.
