Can I put my comment here? I don't want to put spoilers. Wildcard is different from the story you posted before, isn't it? I'm a bit disoriented because my not-so-good memory keeps on trying to find something familiar in the plot.

@ViBeMomma I was lucky enough to get a new job only 3-4 weeks after I got let go from the old. And it’s a job I really love and have had my eyes on for years, so in the end it was a win-win situation for me
