Ayyyy hbittttt I loved this novel and I sincerely hope that you will complete it, because you used the plot and events that everyone used but failed to express, narrate, and smooth the events. Karim's obsession killed me, and Ilyas’s innocence and intelligence exhausted me. They seem like ordinary things that are always used, but you unleashed them in a way that is not ordinary at all keep going babeeee
@jivalvalian Exactly that ! Let’s pray such kind of love and devotion visits our doorsteps or hunts us . Either way a win is a win ;)
I understand what you mean, and I think you’re right about one thing: LOVE SHOULD WAKE US UP, not put us to sleep. There is something real and powerful in that awareness, in choosing someone even when you see how much they could undo you.
But I don’t think the darkness is what makes love meaningful on its own. What gives it value is that the darkness never turns into harm. The fear you describe becomes beautiful only when it’s held by trust, and the hunger only works when it knows restraint.
Maybe love isn’t meant to be safe in the sense of being dull ,but it should be safe enough to grow inside. Fire can warm or destroy. The difference is care. And I think real love learns how to burn without leaving scars.
يحززن لي أربع أيام ف أول بارت عشان اقدر أفهم اللهجة
Awwww !
French is our second language and as a Moroccan , it’s nothing to be proud of . As sophisticated and elegant as it sounds , it carries a heavy baggage of racism , ego and that European superiority mentality . For us it’s more than a language , rather a reminder of oppression which why we grew to resent it . Spanish feels lighter somehow , for historical reasons as well while Amazigh stands as the heart of our culture . Our dialect is as WILD as it gets , rich , messy and hard to grasp but only because every word tells a story . Watching our country turn to English in recent years is so freeing , feels like an act of revenge ! like we’re finally snapping the last chains of the colonial past. Intellectually , it’s great to be fluent in different languages , but personally sometimes it feels like a dead weight on my shoulders , like carrying a useless heavy thing through life only because culture said so . Darija’s sweetness resides in its challenging nature and understanding it feels like reward , because you don’t just unlock a dialect , you unlock a whole new system that’s so different from the one you grew up to know . So brace yourself !
Exactly that’s what I meant. The Moroccan dialect is packed with loanwords from other languages which is honestly what makes it so challenging for us to grasp. I used to struggle with the Iraqi dialect too but after reading a few Iraqi novels I’ve started to get the hang of it. Your dialects on the other hand are on a whole different level even just listening to them I can barely make out the words!
It’s easier for you to understand us because our speech is quite simple and closer to Modern Standard Arabic except for a few slang words here and there. But I have to say I absolutely love the fact that you guys are fluent in French having it as a primary language is honestly so cool and sophisticated
But practice makes perfect , if you read enough stories from our region , you’d start understanding us eventually . Not completely but at least enough to read and get an idea of how we do things .
