If I didn't like food so much, I'd say I could survive on books alone. Books and food. Books and food and Jesus. That's me.
My goal in life is to be the author of a sticky-pages book. You know, the one read so often that the pages are all crinkled and stained in a few places? I'd be honored to be the author of a stained book.
Ravenclaw, if you're curious. Ravenclaw proud.
I write what I like to call YA "kingdom fantasy." This means other worlds, limited magic bound to rules, always a king or queen or charming but deceptive prince, and some curse to be broken or adventure to be had. Kingdom fantasy.
My debut novel, The Storyteller's Daughter, comes out August 25, 2020 via Parliament Press. It's a loose Rumpelstiltskin retelling. My second book is also in the editors hands and it's titled Woods of Silver and Light. This one is a loose Robin Hood retelling. When I saw loose, I mean very loose. My mom finished the second book and hadn't realized it was a retelling until I told her. The first one is more obvious because I kept Rumpelstiltskin's name the same and that's a harder one to mistake.
Other details about me: I got married at nineteen to Jonathan, and we have two little boys. He's the head of HR and Accounting, allowing me to stay home and raise the boys while I pursue writing a work out sporadically. He's also Ravenclaw.
