The powers that be have killed this site, I swear.
          	
          	How you gonna get rid of the NEWSFEED?? When I was a Wattpad youngin, the newsfeed was my navigation tool to finding message board parties with my friends. The newsfeed, along with the community boards (which have also been disposed of), were how I found stories to read!!! I literally would not made any friends had it not been for these two resources. 
          	
          	I dont utilize that janky search feature. The hashtags suck too. And dont get me started on the paywall...
          	
          	I am glad I came back to Wattpad for one last hurrah with Gravemates. I got to see the site in its last moments before it became something i dont even recognize. I can firmly say I will never post a new story here. Whats the point? All the ways i communicated with users, both old and new, have been stripped away.

Today's the day. I set aside Gravemates for a month so I could read other things, relax, focus on this new job, etc. 
          
          Well, the time has come to return to the draft. The editing process starts now!!!

            I actually just finished my reading of the first draft. I want to apologize for the hazardous grammar and spelling mistakes in those last chapters. Good grief, I was embarrassed. You are a trooper for going on that rough journey with me.
            
            But as hard as it was, I was confronted with a lot of things that didnt work, things that annoyed me, etc. When I can get this next draft together, i would love to keep working with you! 
            
            I’m glad to hear your story is getting beta read and is getting the attention it deserves. You got it, man! ❤️

Hi, everybody! I wanted to ask my fellow writers a question.
          
          Do you post work that you intend on publishing? There seems to be a gray area as it pertains to Wattpad and if it counts as self publishing. I liked posting work with the vague expectation of "maybe I'll publish, maybe it's just part of my growth." 
          
          Well, that's changed with "Gravemates." I absolutely want to champion this story as my debut novel. Of course, that's so far away (I still need to finish the draft lol) but I hope its existence on Wattpad isn't a hindrance. I've thought about how to accommodate this. 
          
          My current plan is to finish the book on Wattpad, leave it up for a limited period of time, then take it down completely. I want my readers who started this journey to be able to finish it. But as I get more entrenched in the editing process, I'll probably pull it. 
          
          Nothing is set in stone right now. I just wanted to open the floor to other authors who may have the same reservations. I appreciate any kind of response :)

@Blackice Yeah, I feel the same re: book clubs and such. Although I appreciated the feedback, the problem is it was only for the first couple chapters. So I know I am gonna have to look for resources that can help with the whole thing. 
            
            That said, I am glad I posted “Gravemates” because I was curious what people thought about it. Writing doesn’t always have to be a lonely venture; I think your comments have definitely helped me stay motivated. 
            
            My perspective on Wattpad is different than a lot of the younger writers. I do not care about making my books Wattpad famous. I just like to engage with other writers. Plus, getting your book read by a lot of people is part of drafting/editing. I value the opinions of other writers.
