An enormous thank you to everyone who has checked out Flight Risk. This weekend, it hit 10,000 reads! I didn't imagine it'd reach so many people when I wrote it, so thank you dearly to everyone who has read, voted, commented, added it to a reading list or recommended it to others. It makes me so happy and excited to see my little asexual romance finding an audience!

I don't have many updates about my writing. I've been exploring characters and concepts, but nothing's gelling into a story yet. I'm okay with that though. It's been a heavy spring but I've been thankfully well-supported through it, so I'm mostly reading and taking it easy when I can.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend :)

Recommendation: I just finished reading ‘I Just Want You to Like Me’ by @mygoodbones, and what an emotional and powerful journey it was. This is the second book in the series featuring Ziri and Miles, two very memorable and well-developed characters. It does a fantastic job of exploring mental health and overcoming trauma, like toxic family dynamics and past abuse. It portrays love so well in both its beautiful loving moments and in the tougher spots, where the way the characters support each other through their pain and challenge is equally touching, plus there’s the added bonus of Ziri’s family’s love and acceptance that I adored seeing as well. This is a great series for anyone who loves intense and heartfelt character-driven stories and is okay with the exploration of some heavier topics (all handled with care by the very talented author).

Recommendation: If you love compelling stories that tug at your heartstrings and take you on memorable emotional journeys, check out ‘Just Like Starting Over’ by @nikszabo. Willa and Elsie, two sisters, flee to Hamburg in 1960, where they run into the Beatles. Without other support, the women reluctantly lean on the musical group during the early stages of their career. Every time I opened up a chapter, I was blown away by how deeply Nikole dives into Willa’s emotional turmoil and just how beautifully immersive and detail-oriented the historical aspects were. The fun banter between Willa and John was top-notch as well.

A fantastic story for anyone who loves getting pulled into a world of drama, slow-burn love, and of course, laughter, given the portrayal of the young musicians.

Flight Risk is officially complete! Thank you enormously to everyone who has taken this journey with Audrey, Caleb and me. I hope you enjoy the end of their emotionally charged adventure.

Your support has been invaluable to completing this story and I'm beyond lucky to have many of you joining me with each update. It's been a few years since I've marked a story complete, and this one came in at just over 138,000 words.

I haven't decided exactly what comes next in my writing journey, but I'll probably attempt to work on one of my on-hiatus projects offline with the hopes of updating in the future. Take care, everyone!

Double update today: chapters 54 and 55. They're emotional ones, and it's making me sad too as we're so close to the end! It's hard to imagine saying goodbye to these characters. Thank you so much to everyone who has been supporting Audrey and Caleb's journey.

It's been a nice first week of March for my stories on Wattpad

          - I was interviewed by the TripleAcommunity about 'Flight Risk' and my writing ( https://www.wattpad.com/1519056933-triple-a-interviews-meet-sarah-paradis )

          - 'More to Life' was featured in the Ambassador's reads 'Bake Me a Story' list with a lovely write up calling it 'skillfully emotional story' which is a pretty way to say you may want to both shake sense into Maria and punch a few other characters in the face all before the end of act 1 (If you've read it you know XD)

          - And despite being swamped at work this week and weekend, I managed to update a short chapter of 'Flight Risk' earlier this week. I'm about 3 chapters away from the end, which is hard to believe.

Thanks for all of your wonderful support!

@nikszabo Thank you for checking it out! Aw thanks! I'm both looking forward to and sad to keep working on it.

If you enjoy intriguing fantasy novels with deep and thoughtful themes, check out 'The Gifts of Mortality' by @eleanorkennedy14 . It explores the concept of mortality and how it gives life meaning through the eyes of both gods and humans. The story follows Samil, the god of the Festivals and the Arts, who is shocked by the apathy of his fellow gods when a human terrorist group gains control over the Goddess of Death. Despite finding no support among his kind, he’s determined to help the humans, which sets him down an interesting course. There are lots of great twists in this novel, and I also loved seeing how queerness was worked in throughout both the immortal and mortal realms. Samil is a sweet and refreshing character to root for who is determined to see the good in the world.

Oh my gosh!!!! Thank you so much for this. You summed up the book better than I ever could.

Weird question: can I add this callout to the bottom of my book’s description? It is seriously that good.

If you’re looking for a fun grumpy/sunshine romcom, check out ‘The Solo Dating Experiment’ by @HeidiCarroll. The story follows Rissa, a serial dater with a habit of getting invested in questionable relationships far too soon, and Conner, a self-help author who wrote a well-known dating guide. After a tense encounter in a coffee shop, the two collaborate on an experiment where instead of dating men, Rissa takes herself on solo dates and she shares the experiences afterward with Conner for his next book. It’s a wonderful story that focuses on loving and accepting yourself as well as healing from the past, including betrayal and unhealthy family relationships, where both characters grow together before finding love. I really enjoyed the blend of humour, self-growth, and the characters' vibrant and contrasting personalities. I hope you do too!
