Her eyes widened as she heard the snap of a twig behind her. How did she not realize it before? Of course she was being followed. She had just escaped a house full of murderers, obviously they'd send someone after her.
She quickly sucked in a breath and darted away, the crunching of withered leaves behind her and her own shallow breaths were the only thing she could hear. All of a sudden, a dark figure dashed in front of her. Her face went pale as she crashed into a man in a dark blue mask. He grabbed her shoulders firmly. "Caught you."
