Hello! French girl here. I have a question and felt like you'd be the only ones I could ask it to. So here's the deal. My book is about an Asian girl who got adopted and it is not offensive in French culture to write in the pov of someone from another ethnicity but I was wondering if it was still okay to do so. Like couldn't it be somewhat offensive as a not Asian person myself? What also stresses me out is that people will think I stereotyped her because she happens to be a nerd and be flat-chested (which is her biggest insecurity) which are widely-spread racist stereotypes but I decided on her being all that before I decided on her being Asian. Does it still make it okay to keep these traits?
The thing is I can't stand non-diverse stories and having the same main characters all over again. I don't want to misrepresent and offend anyone while doing so though.
