- A General Response to People Who Mock Directioners -
I will admit One Direction's music is quite a deviation from where my true taste lies (Ed Sheeran, Snow Patrol, Coldplay, John Mayer, Jason Walker, Rosi Golan, Mat Kearney, and the like...), however I do enjoy their music when it's a sunny day and I just want to have fun. They are writing most of their own music these days and they have real talent. It grates on me when people want to hate on them just because the genre they are in or because they came from X Factor. If you listen to their voices, they have talent. I saw them live and they were so good. Who they are as people is what truly makes me a Directioner but I do also love their music. Who they are makes me love their music even more--just like how someone's personality can make them look more attractive? Well, who they are makes their music more attractive to me. They've got good hearts and great senses of humor. So long as someone has respectable reasons communicated respectfully for being a fan, others ought to be respectful in return no matter their personal opinion of the musician. Part of what is so important to fans is how sincere they are. They are genuine with their fans and so humble about all they have accomplished when they've been given every reason to be arrogant jerks by now. I love them and they make bad days easier, whether anyone understands that or not, it is true. That alone should be enough for someone not to mock me for my Directioner status. What kind of person would mock that?
