I'm a 61 year old software geek, living near Seattle with my lovely wife and 2 daughters (11 & 15). I've been writing JAFF for about three years, with over 26 stories including everything from one-shots to 4 novels.



My wife and I recently sold a software company we built from the ground up over the last 7 years, that we are extremely proud of. We made a speech recognition product called Palabra (Spanish for Word) that helps oncologists treat cancer patients. Our software uses a combination of speech recognition and heavy automation to save oncologists around an hour a day, a huge productivity improvement. Google for "PalabraApps" to see it.



In my 40s, I rode 12,000 miles through 18 countries on a recumbent bicycle in my Vision Quest. You can google for "Wade's Vision Quest" for my non-fiction writing. It's 600 pages about my 3 year trip from 2000-2003.



I met my wife in Madrid, Spain about 8,000 miles into the trip (she's from Madrid and there's quite a romantic story there).



@WadeHatler is my personal twitter account, which is scientific and very political (I am a strong and unapologetic Progressive with decided opinions). At the moment it has a lot about US politics and COVID-19, but really, it has whatever I'm thinking about at the moment. It's not for everyone, but you are welcome.
