(I know no one reads bios, but I worked hard on this, so I'm putting it up anyways. Sorry for typos.)
We, as humans, are all trapped. It may not be a literal prison, like poor Edmond Dauntes in 'The Count of Monte Cristo', or even a primitive cage, like in the ballads of 'Robinson Crusoe', but it is a trap none-the-less. We are trapped not by literal bars, but instead by our own incompetence, our own self-doubts, and our own desire for homogenization. That is, the desire to be just as everyone else is. This proposes a question: Why would one simply crave to be ordinary, when we were created to be the very opposite? It is a fate we simply cannot escape.
In hope, our desire to 'fit in' or to stick with the status quo, is not implied in every aspect of our daily lives. An actor, who wishes to go unnoticed, may feel embodied by her characters in the theatre and greedy for other's eyes upon her. A physicist, who had based his previously us work upon that of other, may become one in his own when he creates a new theory that may change the world as we know it. For some of us, our escape from our self-designed prison is through literature.
In literature, can you not be whatever whims your fancy? It the world not at your fingertips? Even as we grow older in years, writings and readings draw to us, and tempt us like nothing in our material world can do. For in the world of the imaginary, our only desire is to be extraordinary. We strive to greatness, long for diversity, and embrace the very being of ourselves in a way that would not be accepted in the real world.
So, allow me to steal you away in the world of words, and to take you on a ride that will allow you to be who you want to be. Let me take you on an adventure you will surely never forget.
