I've already seen Kraven 7/10
J.C. Chandor's (Triple Frontier) film about the iconic Spider-Man villain presents an interesting proposition: exploring the origins and motivations of Sergei Kravinoff. Rather than showing us an animal hunter, he is a hunter of hunters and an animal lover. Aaron Taylor-Johnson gives a compelling performance, capturing the complexity of the character.
The Good:
Deep Origin: The film delves into Kraven's complex relationship with his father and brother, and how this bond influences his transformation into a ruthless hunter.
Visceral Action: The action sequences are intense and well choreographed.
Character Exploration: Beyond the stereotypical villain, the film attempts to humanize Kraven, showing us his vulnerabilities and motivations. Things I liked the most: The turn of Sergei's brother who is the chameleon and the great villains that are Foreigner and Rhino, the development of being Kraven, also the inclusion of Calypso's love.
In itself the film doesn't fail much, but it felt sometimes fast and other times slow, but in itself it's not the worst film in the Sony universe about Spiderman, since Morbius and Madame Web are worse, but it's enjoyable like the Venom trilogy.
In itself, it's a film that divides opinions. It offers a different look at the Spider-Man universe, but it doesn't manage to establish itself as a great film. It's a film that's worth watching, if you like origin stories and are willing to overlook some of its flaws.
