Saw the new Supergirl movie today. Going to put down my overall thoughts without spoiling anything.
Don't understand the hate that's surrounding it. It's a good adaptation of the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comic. It doesn't do everything from the book, which is fine. For the 90 minutes the movie has, everything in the book wouldn't have been able to be covered.
Milly Alcock is a GREAT Supergirl. By the end of the movie, I feel that she had character growth. She did a great job.
Jason Moma IS Lobo. Despite Lobo not being in the comic, I'm glad that they put him in the movie. Hope that they give him a limited series, since I think that would work better for the character than a full movie.
My main complaint is the film's design of Krem of the Yellow Hills. It's too Mad Max for my take, since I prefer the comic design. Seen some people saw he's not in the movie for a long time, but he wasn't in the comic for a lot of pages, so I don't really understand this complaint.
Overall, its a fun movie. Heard some rumors that Supergirl will be in Superman 2/Man of Tomorrow (whatever they are calling it) so it's a good watch to know who Supergirl is and see more of who she is, but not a must watch before that movie in my opinion. This could change depending on if the rumors are true and how much of a role she has in that movie.
I'd rate it a 7-8 out of 10 and that's because of Krem's design and something from the comic I would have loved to see in the movie, but was not in the film.
