Hiya, so I been on my educational shit lately and I came across this article that came out literally one day ago (June 9th)  about Drew Barrymore. This is not a hate article, rather an informative article about a really important topic.

Alright, so I was going on a research endeavor about social issues. I got on the topic of white privilege and found this TED talk.

          There's a transcript for those who can't hear it . I feel like she made some very good points and I want to know what Y'all think about it.
          Also, for those who don't believe white privilege is real I want you to get back to me after watching it. I just want to know how y'all feel about and if you agree . I also want to know if you have any criticism .

Ok, so I was listening to a spotify and I caught a line about the 13th amendment. Ya know...the one that made slavery illegal. Kinda. 
          
          I looked up what the 13th amendment said and I caught a loophole.
          "The Thirteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution abolished slavery and involuntary servitude, except as punishment for a crime. "
          
          Except as punishment for a crime. So, I got curious. I asked Google why the amendment said that slavery is okay as punishment . And found this.

          From what I understand, the 13th amendment legalized legal slavery
           It said that if you are arrested, for anything, you can be subjected to slavery. And considering that POC make up the majority percentage in prisons....
           It took me longer to write this than it did for me to search all of it up AND find sources. This is definitely going in my book.
