here is a sneak peak part of Not Alone's first chapter, a love story I'm working on:
Exerpt of Chapter 1: Secret Crush
High school isn't the easiest place either. I was just a freshman that year, and I didn't really have more than two friends to talk to, and even then, Harvey and Kristen weren't much help when it came to giving advice when I needed it most. One day, I was in the lunch room after my third hour math class with Mr. Zanby, and I was in one of my moods. I just felt very irritated at everything. My dad blamed me for not being able to find his other work shoe that morning, Mr. Zanby gave me a D on my Unit 5 test on algebraic expressions, and on top of that, I had a crush......but no one knew I had a crush. No one knew because it was on a guy, and no one knew I liked guys.
His name was Daniel Berringer. He was a little taller than me at 5' 10" with long, wavy hair which was the perfect shade of blonde, compared to my ugly, messed up, black hair that took forever to comb right in the morning. My favorite part of him was his emerald green eyes that seemed to actually glow. They mesmerized me every time, but if he ever caught me staring at him, he never said anything, and if he had, I'd be so embarrassed, I'd drop out of school and move to Alaska. I'd rather freeze my nuts off than look weird in front of Daniel, the cutest guy in my freshman class!
