Another point I wanted to make is the difference between the content in fan-fiction. I have read multiple Dramione fics to try and give it a chance, and realizes a huge difference between the stories. In Drarry fics, Draco usually goes through a redemption arc and ends up earning Harry’s love. In most cases after the war, Draco proves he is a good person and Harry actually testifies for him not to end up in Azkaban. In Dramione fics, Draco is usually still a death eater and even disrespects Hermione during their relationship. One example of a fic like this is Manacled. Draco or “High Reeve” is a literal R@pist in this story and somehow it’s still a romance? Even if he was “forced to r@pe Hermione, how on earth could she still fall for him? In another example, a story called because you’ll like it by @bedtimefantasies on Ao3, the author writes about a game of truth or dare in which a charm is placed on the players that forces them to do what they’re dared to. Someone dares Draco to preform a sexual act on Hermione and she is given no choice but to oblige due to the charm. The tags of this story even include  #SA #rape”. This shows romanization of r@pe which is absolutely disgusting. Although Drarry can also be toxic at times, it’s more acceptable because it’s an ENEMIES TO LOVERS story. Meaning there won’t always be rainbows and butterflies. In the world of Drarry Fanfiction it is much easier to find less toxic stories. Although there are more reasons, I don’t want my message to be overbearing so I’ll stop here. So that’s my stance.
          
          I’d love to hear other opinions, but I want to be clear that my stance on this situation is firm. I’m okay with hearing different opinions, but I will not argue over what I think is correct because I’ve already made points as to what I stand for.

People also ship Dramione because they dislike Romione. Although it’s perfectly fine not to like them, I wanted to make some points about them as well. Many people don’t ship Romione because they say Ron isn’t intellectually matched to Hermione. I think this is incorrect because Ron is actually great at wizards chess which is a very intellectual game. Ron’s character isn’t looked into enough in the movies. In the books he often puts himself down and is jealous because of the fact that he is “a shadow” to Harry and his 6 other siblings. Romione is also a play on enemies to lovers due to how much the characters bicker. Although they were friends, they disliked many things about each other. In the end they fell in love.
          

Hello! I wanted to come on here and talk about my stance on a common debatable topic amongst Harry Potter Fic readers. If you see this and you have a similar or different opinion, please state it respectfully in the replies. I’m open to hearing other opinions but will NOT respond to problematic comments or start an argument. This will be split in parts because I have a lot to say. Please read it all. 
          
          Throughout my time as part of the Harry Potter fandom, I’ve seen a lot of dispute between drarry and dramione shippers. I thought I’d come share my own opinion and some reasons I have that have brought me to have this opinion. Again I for positive responses (if anyone chooses to respond at all). 
          Based on pretty much my entire profile, I think it’s pretty obvious that I ship Drarry. At the same time, I dislike Dramione a lot. I love a good enemies to lovers story, but I truly don’t believe that dramione is part of that trope. One of the main differences between the two is that Drarry is Enemy x Enemy as to where Dramione is Enemy x Victim. Throughout the books/movies, Harry will throw insults at Draco and Draco will do the same. On the other hand, Draco typically calls Hermione a M**blood and even wishes death upon her in chamber of secrets. The only time Hermione really retaliates against Draco is when she slapped him in POA. Even though Draco is the root of the problem in both situations, Drarry’s Enemy past is more mutual.
