There’s a book that I read a while ago that I can’t find in my library anymore about a male homicide detective who I’m looking for a mass murderer ends up becoming one himself. He becomes one because his male “informant” who he finds in a red light district sort of place is the killer that he’s looking for but tricks him into thinking he’s not. The informant gets the detective to be his “partner/boyfriend” and gets the detective to set fire to his police building. Let me know if you know this book/ know where I can find it
