I am a retired Emergency Medicine physician from central Pennsylvania. I wrote this book about Mahabir Pun, a social entrepreneur in Nepal when I was a volunteer with his nonprofit organization, Himanchal Education Foundation (HEF).

During my 15 years with HEF from 2002 to 2017, I was the medical advisor for Nangi Clinic, the volunteer coordinator, a member of the HEF Board of Directors and I posted on the HEF blog. I made five trips to Nepal and worked with Mahabir Pun on many projects both as a volunteer physician and educator. I wrote the book between 2012 to 2014 but used notes from interviews and travel diaries taken over the 15 years.

If you aspire to develop an entrepreneurial project but have failed to gain traction or met discouraging roadblocks then read Mahabir Pun's story. I have come to know him and want to share his passion and knowledge with others, who, like Mahabir, struggle under hardships to put their dreams into practice.
