Hey, Willow! I have a lil excerpt from a fic I abandoned before I could post a single chapter, so I kind just wanted to hand this over as a suggestion. It's an AU where Nico Di Angelo finds out that he's from a wizarding family on his mom's side and he goes to Hogwarts.
Enough of my rambling, here's the excerpt:
Nico began to squirm and tried to hold in a scream. He didn't want to relive those memories. He began to scream and scratch at his arms and pull his hair until he bled. “Stop! Please! I don't want to relive those memories! I don't want to see them again! Make it stop! I can't go back there! Get out of my head!” The sorting hat let out an unholy screech before yelling out, “SLYTHERIN!” Nico could feel the tears streaming down his cheeks as the hat was removed from his head. Will ran up to him and hugged him. Nico clung to Will like he was his lifeline. And, in a way, Will was. He walked over to the Slytherin table and sat by Draco. Will let go of him, kissed the top of his head, whispered that he'll be okay, and walked back to the Hufflepuff table as Draco wrapped an arm around his brother. “Hey, it's okay, Nicki. I know how hard it is for you to relive those memories. Especially Tartarus. At least you're with me. I can protect you.” Nico gave him a weak smile before leaning on Draco's shoulder and picking at his food. Draco, noticing that his brother wasn't eating, started to feed him. Nico weakly ate as Draco handed him bites. After the feast, Will joined them and gave Nico some ambrosia for his injuries. “You can take the top bunk of my set of bunk beds. I made sure that no one took it so that I didn't have to share with anyone I didn't know.” Nico nodded and followed his brother to the dungeons. That night, Nico was comforted by a few of the Slytherin kids. Despite their reputation, the Slytherins are actually nice people. The only reason they got their rep is because of Tom Riddle and his followers.
