Hey Everyone,
Happy KB2 Weekend! I want to thank everyone for all the support on my books recently. 2026 is off to a great start, and I plan to continue writing, reading, and publishing chapters in February. Unfortunately, I lost my word streak, but I’ll start a new streak today and give you all an update next weekend.
Also, I finished reading my first creative writing craft book! Here’s my quick review on “Writing Fiction: A Guide to Narrative Craft Ninth Edition” by Janet Burroway, Elizabeth Stuckey-French, and Ned Stuckey-French: I strongly recommend this text for those of you interested in either learning new creative writing techniques or acquiring a vocabulary for techniques you already employ in your writing. The book provided excellent guidance on establishing an atmosphere with setting, developing multi-dimensional characters, and writing dialogue that isn’t purely exposition but reveals emotion. Beyond narrative advice, the text also offers helpful technical tips. I found the “remove filtering (ex. He heard/They realized/etc.)” and “details need to be concrete (appeal to senses) and significant (convey an idea or judgement)” tips particularly relevant to my writing and applied them. This text will either ground you in the art of creative writing or refresh you on the fundamentals. It’s a win either way.
Rating: 10/10
