Hi, I have a small concept that kinda makes sense to me.
          I think Snape bullied Neville because he knew that Neville understand the secret note that he was telling Harry during the 1st class. And he was bullying him into submission so he didn't tell Harry, which is a very (redacted) thing to do and shouldn't have happened, but it would make sense, because Neville was found to be good at herbology and would definitely know Victorian flower language.
