Over more than four decades I have been an award-winning journalist, writer and editor for major newspapers and national magazines, both print and online. Police reporter, court reporter, foreign correspondent, national correspondent, business writer: I've done it all, often writing about very small places with very big problems. For the past quarter-century I have focused on business and finance, where my writings predicted corporate collapses and sent scamsters to prison. I have a law degree and a Chartered Financial Analyst designation. As a hobby, I referee youth soccer matches, something I have been doing for 17 years in New Mexico, the Los Angeles area and Seattle, where I now live.
