The Pocket-Watch Confession will be updated tomorrow!
And in case you're curious, here's a little peak at what I have been writing for tomorrow's chapter! Can't wait to post more about James and William! :D
After just a moment I found my playful attitude again and let my fist hit his shoulder lightly and glance off to get his attention. He had that same look of amusement on his face as I said, almost challengingly, "you haven't told me about your life yet, Will!" I faltered slightly, "Do you mind if... can I call you Will?" In the moment, I had forgotten that we still hadn't fully broken a barrier of formality between us, but his answer gave me rest.
"Not around the men, of course, but yes," he breezed but I could see that he was pleased to reach a new level of familiarity.
"So, how have these one and twenty summers been for you? What were your adoptive parents like? How did you live? How did you join the force? Leave out no details, brother, I am perhaps too curious for my own good but I must embrace it," I teased.
"Indeed you are," William chuckled, massaging his forehead as though he was trying to pry the memories from the depths of his mind with the motion of his fingers on his temples, "but since you were so forthcoming with your own life story, I suppose I am obliged to be equally so with my own."
"You are, Will, most obliged to do so," I added with a mischievous grin.
Will glared at me before beginning his tale.
