5. ORGANIZE YOUR WORK. It could either be a series on ao3, one big chapter book for oneshots, or a master post on tumblr. Whatever it is, ORGANIZE IT!!! Nobody wants to search a million years looking for your work.
          6. PUBLIC VS PRIVATE HC. Now, this goes with number 4. Number four was a private HC. A public HC would be something like: Four heard different voices in his head, or Sky is married to Sun. Those are public because they are broad. A private headcanon is something that is specific, such as Warriors is afraid everything is poisoned, or Wind can’t see.
          7. Don’t get into drama on others opinions. Someone wants to make legend hate Hylia in their book? Alright, make legend hate Hylia. That’s their opinion/public hc. If they think legend doesn’t even know Hylia, then that’s also fine as well. It’s all okay, there’s thousands of books on every fandom as far as I’m concerned, so it’s not hard to find what you like.
          8. Never. NEVER. Write anything but the book in the page where you upload the book. If you wanna write about your personal life, or what happens IN the book, or your opinions on it, USE THE NOTES TAB/SUMMARY. END OF DISCUSSION.

I hope this helps yall <3

Alright. As an AO3/Tumblr writer this needs to be addressed.

Wattpad writers, if you’re gonna move to AO3, there’s some etiquette that you need to know.

          1. USE TAGS APPROPRIATELY. That is how people will find your work. Make sure you get the fandom right, so for example it will be something like this “Wild (Linked Universe)” not just “Wild”
          2. If you’re gonna write there, write full on novels, like with the same amount of craft you would use in a college essay. We don’t want little half hearted paragraphs and typos, we want vocabulary and art. <500 words only applies to small oneshots and maybe even cr*ckfixs. If it’s none of those things, you’re going to have to write a lot. This is not to make it challenging or impossible, it’s just how it works.
          3. Kudus is not enough. You can’t kudus every chapter of a book, so here’s what you do: kudus, and COMMENT. Here’s what a good comment should look like

*explain what you enjoyed about the plot/theories*

*give examples from text and analyze*

          *Tell them great work*

Any less than that is not good enough. They pour their heart in these books for FREE.

          4. Never, NEVER steal someone’s idea/au without permission. Here’s what I mean by this. If someone headcannons wild to have much worse scarring than he already has, and I mean MUCH worse, then you must make it KNOWN to them you will write about it. There’s very little gate keeping, but in return you must TELL THEM you’re using the hc, give credit, and make sure they allow it.

@Anonymous_Author163 woah, I never even heard of that site.

Also, imagine if they said it wasn’t? Crush an aspiring writer’s dreams? That writer could have been amazing if you let their work develop.
