We'd like to mention that we've posted some of the plays we wrote for our school's 24-hour play. What is a 24-hour play, you ask?
In a few words: it's a super fun collaboration between student actors, directors, and writers to put an entire play together within 24 hours. Everyone gets together at 7 pm the night before the performance, discuss the play, and get to know each other. Then the writers stay up all night to write the plays (3 to 5 plays, either in groups or individually). The directors, who are also students, stay for part of the evening and come back in the morning to discuss the play with the writers. Then the actors and directors work together all day until 7 pm the next evening (exactly 24 hours since the process began), when the play will be performed. It might sound a little insane, but it was a blast! We hoped to do more than one this school year, but quarantine made it impossible.
It's also worth mentioning that this was our first time writing plays of any kind, that we wrote the plays with specific actors already in mind (which was a fun experience), and that the directors were a huge help in putting our stories together because of their past experience with the actors and drama in general. Thanks to everyone, because the result was awesome!
