Thank you for looking at my profile. JK Rowling created an infinite world for us to explore as well as a framework for our imagination. I have researched obsessively to keep my story canon compliant.
JKR's work reaffirms my belief that a single person can change the world. She provided us with many people who changed their world, none more so than James and Lily Potter. In consecutive acts of unconditional and selfless love they changed their world. They may have lost their battle but their love won the war. This is their story.
Before Lightning Struck came to me in a flash. It's all about James and Lily falling in love, the lives they lived lived and the people they loved. My story features the Marauders, Lily, Marlene, Dorcas our beloved Professors, Severus Snape, Regulus Black and Euphemia and Fleamont Potter the pair who would become our Neville's parents.
My story is about Hogwarts, during the late 70's, the first war with Voldemort and his Death Eaters. The Order of the Phoenix is in its infancy. It starts during the Marauders sixth year. Who were James, Sirius and Remus? Who were Lily, Marlene and Dorcas? Why did Peter betray his friends? How did Severus Snape become the person we meet in Harry's time at Hogwarts? Who were Fleamont and Euphemia Potter? Why did Regulus change his mind?
I hope my story shows my characters, as they evolve. They have very little time as we know but they don't know that, they lived large, while they were alive.
I have deliberately not created original characters, except for some awesome house elves because I wanted to work with only with those created by JKR. I prefer canon stories so to my mind, I had no need of nor room for original characters. I wanted to write within the world that JKR's imagination. I can be contacted at wynterrise@gmail.com.
