Awe, I'm sorry that it made you sad...but I wanted to somewhat follow the books so Tom had to die. By the way, the prologue was changed and Aileen is a boy now. There are two more books making 'The Serpent's Desites' which will be book two, and 'The Serpent's Mark' which follows Aileen's story.
