I'll rattle off the basics so I can get to the good stuff. My name is Alexis, but I also go by Xero. I'm a twenty-four year old American from New York but I'm currently stuck in Iowa. Long story. My interests include music in all its forms, travel, painting, cooking & baking, & foreign languages. I went to the University of Iowa for four years and majored in Studio Art & Ceramics only to figure out four years too late that I'm supposed to be a writer. I write fantasy-romance with New York as the backdrop. As for what I like to read, I apologize in advance if this sounds pretentious. But I love to read things I haven't read before. I love stories that are fresh and different. Brave and unapologetic about what it is. Here are some of my all-time favorites that I feel fit that description; Perks of Being A Wallflower, The Picture of Dorian Gray, Call Me By Your Name, The Catcher In The Rye, The Joy Luck Club, Interview With the Vampire, Great Gatsby, Lexicon, Little Women, HitchKiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and the Catwings series by Urusla Le Guin (RIP). 

In my last semester of college I was in a fiction writing class where we wrote pieces and gave critiques to each other's work every week. It was instrumental in the development of one of the series I'm working on, which otherwise wouldn't exist. I am wholeheartedly and humbly aware of how valuable and critical (no pun intended) the feedback of others can be to a project, and although I've been writing since I was ten, I'd like to actually finish something. Something good. Something that changes people like books have changed me. Whatever I come up with will end up here.
