@Xylem3Keys Honestly if I for some reason made an AU, I would probably include one side-chapter for another character, but I would actually make it nessecary with something known as big brain. It would prob be near the end and solve plot holes in the story, kinda simillar to (Spoilers if you haven't wached BFDI but want to) how BFDIA 13 fixed plotholes between BFDIA and IDFB (Like the LOLers getting Asset changes and Firey recovering Leafy)

@Xylem3Keys another advice: Do not insert Wilbert Awdry, George Carlin, Ringo Starr, etc. Keep them out of it. Make fictional characters that are not based on ANY real person (dead or alive. Yes I put that disclaimer in my story just in case)

@IDiedThinkingOfAName hmm, that's some good ideas, so I decided to share my advices when writing a horror AU
            1. Make it all about storytelling which makes your story good.
            2. Find some inspiration than just AUs. Go watch some horror/thriller movies (like what I did find inspiration to write mine on AO3). Find some interesting scenes or anything that you would reference from said movies or railway accidents (anything but the boiler explosion)
            3. Imho, adding stories of unimportant engines explaining what happened to them one character after another feels unnecessary and not needed. (Ex: We found someone safe and sound and we ask them what happened they explained what happened. Also how can the main human character know write everything he knows about their backstory? It feels unrealistic imo). I would suggest to use that on important characters you're focusing on.
            4. If you wanted to do a War story, DO YOUR RESEARCH. Don't just do "Germans attack in 1960s-90s" or some shit. A perfect example is from this doc I read.

            The only one that I enjoyed reading was Nothing but Me, Myself and the Mist. Very peak AU and a big improvement from the original. I'll admit that I'm not perfect on my AU, but still at least it ain't inspired by formatted plot slop and wrote something original.

@Xylem3Keys That was real good, I loved Donald and Murdoch's team up, and the Gordon just leaving everyone, that line is the best part of the whole chapter.

And then at the end more characters are turned into monsters(the ony ones I remember are Gordon and Henry) Again, HOW, it is not possable to be turned into monsters from volcanoes. And I'm pretty sure Gordon and a few other monsters were derailed when they died. SO HOW DID THEY GET UPRIGHT. And then the battle just turns into a copy and paste SLFD battle.

@IsleofPigsStudios Hell. Did they forget that Germany was split into two from the US and Soviet Union in 1945?? It's laughable how people find this to be "good" when it's completely dogshit. Don't forget about Cold War. It's not technically like WW2 and this shit is so stupid like there was no disaster or invasion on the UK when it has the most powerful military ever.
            
            And by the way, Bowler had made a very well written document about how to WW2 TTTE in the most accurate and realistic way possible. Worth the read. I'm no fan of wars shoved in TTTE but he wrote much better than other horse shit war AUs.

@Xylem3Keys This. Bonus points if the antagonist is Nazi Germany in a year after WWII. Like, come on people do some research. I hate to toot my own horn, but the reason Crystalized's plot kicks off with smuggling is 1. That's how the inspiration/basis of the AU: Ninjago Crystalized started and 2. Smuggling goods is a real world problem that still goes on today and yes, has affected real railways. There's a logical reason for WHY engines are being sent elsewhere, because of smuggling. Then you take a look at shit like Bombing of Sodor and it's just... Nazi's in the 1980s for some reason. Like, HUH? I get that if it's a story that took place in the 1940's, then you'd only have 6 standard gauge engine characters to work with on Sodor. But come on, having NAZI GERMANY be the antagonists of a story that takes place DECADES after WWII is just bullshit.

@Xylem3Keys Not to mention, like I said, HOW IS THOMAS ABLE TO RUN WITH THOSE GUNS? Two of them are in his TANKS! And the third is in his CAB! It’d be a miracle if they even GOT Thomas to move so far so fast with so little water, and with so little room for a crew. This just SCREAMS “IDGAF about logic, I’m throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks”

@IsleofPigsStudios Dark Realms sucks so much piss like how the fuck can fat hatt in white suit can control a tiny ass island when it's connected right next to the UK? I really hate the gun shit shoved into edge lord Sodor AUs when you know, owning a gun there is a privilege. Not a right. It's not the United States for fucks sake (yes I looked that up).

            No need to apologize. I don't blame you for leaving the AU community. Writer's block really does suck. When I get done with From Sea to Beyond Confine, I have plans for making a prequel (not sequel) it takes place outside of Sodor with new characters. I've been watching Zombie films on Netflix (Train to Busan is the goat) and another called Seoul Station only Tubi, I needed to watch more to get inspired to write this fanfic.

@Xylem3Keys I didn't even know about know about Instagram, Facebook and Tiktok doing it mainly because I barely pay attention to them outside of Tiktok nearly being banned a few times. I'm sure Deviantart would also have that problem based on awful or weird artwork I've seen come out of there, but that's just a thought.
