Alright I won 50/50 for Cantarella, and I finished the story and…. My god.
Spoilers for 2.2 Wuthering Waves:
I absolutely love the story, especially seeing Cartethyia’s past slowly being revealed with the tension just bubbling and rising with each talk we have with her.
By the gate before the fight, Rover keeping the same conviction he had similar to the time with Shorekeeper where he prefers things to go another way beside others sacrificing or forfeiting their life for the benefit of another.
God that scene where he refuses Cartethyia’s request makes me want to fall to tears. He just wants everyone to be happy.
Cantarella actually being a sweet person when half of her family is just grim and gloomy. I actually love her characterization of being the one who keeps everyone’s head on their shoulders and being brutally honest about her opinion. She can be hard on others but it’s enough to show that she cares about them.
Cartethyia where at the beginning only being the half of her other self that is an innocent person who holds a lot of love, somehow reminding me of Phoebe, who have gone through her life not realizing her other self is holding back the Leviathan. When upon realizing wanting to end both of their suffering to pass away from their duty.
And with Rover refusing that fate, the pieces and chess board laid by Cantarella fell into place.
In the end, Cartethyia became whole and I did notice her manner of speaking feels more mature than before, but she still held that kindness and care. Leaning already into the direction of her wanting to be our Knight.
