Yasheca is a native of Troy, New York. Yasheca is an avid reader of all genres of novels but has a special love and loyalty to urban fiction and street literature projects. As a teenager attending Doyle Middle School in Troy, New York, is where she began writing poetry and song lyrics inspired by the street flow and lyrics of Rhythm and Blues and Hip Hop music. Reading "A Hustler's Wife" by Nikki Turner encouraged her to begin writing and go after her dream of having the world read her work. The support of family and friends encouraged her to complete her first novel "The Heart Don't Lie: Jewels' Dilemma."

Yasheca has is currently pursuing an MBA at Western Governors University and working on her second novel. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, spoken word, and reading.
