Quote of the Week!
"Nothing lasts, you see, not even the thoughts inside you. And you mustn't waste your time looking for them. Once a thing is gone, that is the end of it."
—Paul Auster, The Invention of Solitude
Don't be discouraged—take this as a reminder. Nothing is forever, so treasure everything you have. Smile as much as you can now, laugh and exclaim and LIVE. Because this moment, right here, right now; that's what it is. A moment. Only a moment in your life. I might only be this one moment to you, maybe I will take up more, but while moments are wonderful. They are beautiful. You cannot let yourself be lost or stuck in them.
You must collect these moments. For they are you. And no, they were over quickly—because nothing lasts. But now you have a new moment, now there is a path ahead of you. There is the past—something that is already gone, something you shouldn't dwell on, something that we cannot change. There is now, our moment right now, the time you are using to even know these words of mine—this is the present.
Then, there is the future—the roads ahead, the moments waiting to be made, the hills and ups and downs you have still yet to face. You will pass so many things. Do not look back too much, okay? Because, in my experience, trying to walk backwards for too far just leads to stumbling, then falling.
Time is finite. Treasure it. Keep moving, you don't need to look for what you've left. You need to believe in yourself, and you need to know that yes, the past won't last. But it is always there, don't worry. That is why we treasure what we have, and you will have.
Keep a map on you,
All of my love,
