How about she hears that there’s a witch who can remove a yokais mates markings. But it comes at a great price? 
            
            Or  
            
            Have where sesshomaru can actually mark her as his mate making the other one void/null? Or maybe that when she fell out of love the mark bleeds and would end up fading unless the other yokai that marked her as his/her mate redoes it? 
            
            (Sorry if my explanations aren’t the best. I’m horrible at explaining things but I hope you can get some idea what I’m talking about.)
