In 2015, 104 unarmed black Americans were shot by police officers, but in reality this number is probably much much higher. out Of these 104 killings, only 13 were taken to trial. Out of thees 13 only four ended with the police officer receiving any criminal charges.
1 particular case that I’ve never been able to forget is that of Tamir Rice, A 12-year-old African-American boy who was fatally shot by a police officer while he played in a park.
Please don’t let George Phloyd become another statistic.
I hope that you and your family are keeping healthy and safe in this difficult time.
Thank you for your time
Martha
