Guess who's actually actually writing for a story I promised to update 3 months ago. Yep, it's me. "This is Just Soooo Messed Up" will be updated later today. I'm so sorry for the wait.

just got called lazy for sitting in my room doing summer homework by my brother, who sat on the couch all day and screamed at me for asking him to clean up after himself. anyone else see the irony?

I need a break from the current stories I have started. This is probably a stupid way of doing it, but I'm instead going to be writing a new story I've recently thought of. I haven't decided yet if I'll be posting the chapters as I write them or if I'll wait until I finish the whole story before I begin posting them, but I guess you can expect that eventually.

Happy New Years I guess, though I'm a little late.

Mostly everyone knows how hard it is to get into a new book at first, because you have no connection to the characters or the world the author is making. How do I fix that so people want to read my stories?
The first answer would be to jump straight into the story and not worry about fully explaining what's happening until later, but if not done perfectly, that can seem cheap, and will only leave the readers more confused.
Does anyone have any ideas about how to fix this problem and make readers more invested in the beginning of the story without confusing them or making the story too complicated?

Quite a bit of you probably don't even know about this, but I've been typing on a broken computer for over a year now. I finally got a new one, so no promises, but hopefully I'll be able to write more now that I can actually see the whole screen. Let me know which stories you want me to update, and I'll try to do those as soon as possible.

I finally read A Court of Silver Flames. Let me just say, it was a train wreck of emotions, and it was a struggle to keep a straight face while reading in class.

@Z03Johnson And yes, the ending made it worth reading.

I just unlocked a hidden memory, apparently.

When I was very young, my grandma was boycotting Target, and when I asked her why, she said it was because they were letting men into the women’s restrooms, and she didn’t think that was ok.
I agreed with her and went on with my day, refusing to go to target for years.

I just realized there is a very good chance she was talking about trans women…

Wtf. So much for coming out to her

I may have just done either a very good or very bad thing and entered A Court of Fear and Longing into the Wattys.

@Z03Johnson There is no 'very bad' about this. Even if it doesn't win, it doesn't mean your story is bad, it just means that there are better ones out there.

Somewhere in between. I’ve been thinking about doing it for a while

It’s officially been a year since I uploaded the final chapter of A Court of Fear and Longing, and I still have people reading and commenting every few days. I should probably fix up my cringey writing soon. It’s embarrassing how bad it is.

Z03Johnson

@Nahniennope it would mean a lot if you read it. It took me almost a year to write it, and was basically the only thing that kept me sane in that time

@maxrgby Thank you. It feels bad to me, and it needs some work, which it will be getting soon
