I have to vent for a moment. Volume 9 of Rwby fucking sucks! It's such a stupid premise. I'm genuinely having a hard time writing my story because its  so pedantic. I want to change things, but there's no way for me to change things without having glaring plot holes. I've been having a easier time working on my side project, and I'm doing that from scratch with no story boarding and basic information about the source material. All I can do with Volume 9 is make stupid jokes at the expense of the story sucking ass. I'm already unhappy with how the second book turned out, and its looking like this section of the book is going to be a stain on the entire story! The chapter will be out tomorrow... Maybe I'd be better off just scrapping this whole thing, rewriting the ending to volume 8 and making volume 9 the finale. It will save me having to rewatch this garbage again... Or maybe it's time to put this on the back burner and focus on my second project until I can trudge through this pile of shit.

@UltimaWerewolf1214 I just took a two week long break for Thanksgiving, and it's not that I don't want to write it, because I genuinely  enjoy writing this story. My issue comes with the fact that I never watched volume 9 until I got to it and figured I could bullshit my way through like I did with volume 0. I can't, unless I'm willing to make volume 9 original, which will still mean I have to rewrite the end of volume 8. I'm sure everyone and their dogs have figured out what I'm doing with volume 9 and I personally feel that it's lazy, even though I also just can't figure something out to do with it. And to be perfectly blunt, I was doing the Christmas project so that I could move away from RWBY for a few months to see what happens with the IP. If nothing comes of it, volume 10 would be original and a definitive ending to RWBYs story. Otherwise, volume 10 would continue with the established story until it was time for either a official end to the series or another volume. Maybe I'm just burnt out on RWBY. I've been doing this for 2 and a half years now and this past Thanksgiving was the first real break I took from it.

@Zach42799 if you don't want to write it that's fine you've got no reason to write it if you don't want to maybe take a much needed break from your Red Hood story everyone would understand

Alright good news and bad news. Good news is that I finished the first chapter of Vol. 9. Bad news, I got food poisoning, so writing has been fun. I would have went ahead and posted today, but I wanted to make it a double upload for my return. Since that's effectively out the window, the new chapter will be up tomorrow at 8, regardless of whether it's just the one chapter or not.

So I just wanted to let you know that even though I've been on break, I have been slowly writing. To clarify, I've been pretty much writing maybe 200 words a day. Not a lot, but it's still a little bit of progress none the less, especially since doing anything defeats the purpose of taking a break. I have however started to work on a surprise for you all. Don't worry, it's not the kill all my characters type of surprise, rather a pleasant one. That being said, I am going to make a effort to have the surprise ready for Christmas. Hope you like it. As for returning to a writing schedule, I'm going to be a bit before I publish another chapter, whether I'm working on it ot not. Basically, I'm still here.

Ok, so Volume 8 is officially done, which means I am officially on break. Obviously, I'll still be around but for the time being, I'm done writing. Once Thanksgiving is over and I've watched volume 9, I'll get back to work on the story. I also want to bring attention to book one. Nearly 100k reads! Quick update, due to some personal issues, writing has been going a little slower than I expected.  I'm 2000 words in and still got at least another 1500 words to go. Once again, once this chapter goes up, I'm officially taking a break to watch volume 9 and to have some time to myself for Thanksgiving.

Update. I have come to realize just how much shit goes on in the last fight of Volume 8 so yeah... Chapter 40 will be the final chapter of Vol.8. I thought I could get everything in that chapter but that isn't going to work out, especially since I still have two more sections that I need to write for Qrow. It would just be too much for one chapter, hence why chapter 40 is the new finale. That will be subject to change in the event that I feel that it would be better to just split the chapter like I will this one.
