Nicholas Woode-Smith was born on the 3rd of October 1995 in Cape Town, South Africa. His main interests include politics, philosophy and complaining about the government. He mainly writes science fiction.
From a young age, he always had a love of fantasy and fiction. As he grew, he gained an interest in politics, philosophy and history. In high school, he wrote and finished his first book, Fall of Zona Nox, and a shorter novel called Cape Zero. During this time, he got involved in the South African libertarian movement, creating what became the largest libertarian Facebook community on Facebook, South African Libertarian.
In 2015, Nicholas entered the University of Cape Town (UCT), studying Politics, Philosophy and Economic History. In the same year, he co-founded the Rational Standard, a pro-liberty commentary site. He also got involved with African Students For Liberty, which he supports as Chairperson of the UCT branch and as a Local Coordinator.
In 2016, he was appointed to the Council of the South African Institute of Race Relations, the youngest council member in their history. As a council member, he is tasked with keeping the vision of the SAIRR reasonable and in a pro-freedom direction.
Nicholas plans to continue his involvement with the liberty movement, hoping to work as a researcher in a pro-liberty think-tank. He also aims to continue writing fiction, specifically the Warpmancer Series.
