well like i knew who he was, i'd heard his stuff on the radio plenty of times. i just didn't know what he looked like. never really cared to check. and then he passed me in a crowded hallway, smiled real big at me, mumbled a quick "hi." and i just nodded politely like my momma taught me to and walked right passed him. and then he got on stage a couple hours later as the opening act and i was like "what. the. hell. that's the kid from the hallway." and then "holy shit that's the guy with that song about the crack addict." and i've loved him ever since. he's amazing live.
