I always enjoyed reading and now enjoy writing even more so. My older brother was an unpublished author for a book series he's been working on since high school.  My first book, "Norikai," started as my own spin on his story but quickly turned to something else. 
I often use my friends as inspiration and muses in my works, as seen in the Norikai Series. They deserve a huge piece of credit for pushing me to be my very best.
