Hello, my beautiful little gremlins, cryptids, monster-lovers and emotionally compromised degenerates.
I'm still alive! Perhaps against all odds.
Still kicking. Still writing. Still being dragged bodily through the year like a Victorian prisoner tied to the back of a carriage, but with more caffeine, more feathers, and considerably more questionable fictional men(hot).
At the moment, I have my co-author over for another visit, which means the house is full of writing, plotting, bad ideas, worse ideas, and the kind of conversations that would get us both put on several watchlists if overheard without context.
It's -fine- okay. Totally.
I am also currently in the height of rearing season, and this year has taken me by the throat, looked me lovingly in the eyes, and said: "Survive this, bitch."
So far, I have been through two owls, four frogmouths, four parrots, and one kookaburra. And I have been told they look like sentient breadmold.
Between tiny murder muppets, nocturnal judgment potatoes, screaming feathered demons, my co-author being here, and the dark romantasy project swallowing my brain whole, things have been busy. Gloriously busy. Horrifically busy?
I don't frekaing know.
As for Tangled Strands, I know. I know. My spider children have been waiting. It is not abandoned. It has never been abandoned. The plan right now is to update Tangled Strands in August, once I have the time and brainspace to give it the attention it deserves. I need my hot spider boi and nerdy biology bitch too.
And, new MerMay short story. YES it's June. No, I will not be taking questions from the court at this time, because apparently I do what I want and time is a fake little construct invented to shame writers.
And LAST but not least...
There is something big coming.
A proper surprise. A “we have been sitting on this like two dragons with a secret egg” kind of surprise. We are very excited, very nervous, and very much vibrating like two raccoons in a trench coat.
WOO!
