My step mom was in a car accident last night and the cops were fucking assholes to her. She was panicking and kept telling one of the officers she didn't know answers at the moment, one asshole cop came over and gave her a sitation for negligent driving when that wasn't even what happened!

That’s when you plead the fifth, otherwise saying idk can be used against you. Saying idk in the court of law is treated as the same as I want paying attention enough to know.
What should be stated and I implore this to everyone; I’m sorry but I can’t speak to you at the moment but perhaps later. This invokes your fifth amendment rights and give you enough time to contact a lawyer
